Hajiya Halima Bala Mohammed

Halima Bala Mohammed was born on 27^th August 1965 in Yola. She hails from Guyuk town of Adamawa State Nigeria. Halima attended Mustafa Primary School, Yola, Adamawa State, University of Maiduguri, Borno State, College of Education, Jalingo, Taraba State, Women Teachers’ College Sugu, Ganye, and Adamawa State respectively.

Amongst many qualifications, she obtained a B.A. (Ed.) English Language 1992, Certificate in Computer Science, Nigerian Certificate in Education 1987, Teachers’ Grade II Certificate 1983 First School Leaving Certificate 1977.

Halima worked at Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB) as a teacher between 19887-1996, Adamawa Press Ltd (Scope Newspaper) NYSC 1992-1993, proceeded to Airport Staff School as Head Teacher in 1996-998 and FUTY now Modibbo Adama University from 1998 to date.

In MAUTECH she served in the Academic Division (Exam & Records)

Unit as Record Officer 1998- 2002, Staff Development and Housing Unit Recruitment officer 2002 – 2003, Information and Protocol Unit Information Officer   2003 – 2004,

School of Technology & Science Education (STSE) School Officer 2004 – 2006,

School of Agriculture & Agricultural Technology (SAAT) School Officer 2006 – 2008,

Junior Staff Establishments Officer 2009 – 2010, Centre for Distance Learning Secretary 2010 – 2015, Information and Protocol Unit Information Officer 2014 – 2018,

Registry Department as Registrar from 2018 to date.

All of these positions are only a summary of the offices in which she has expressed her capacity and abilities.

Halima Bala Mohammed is a member of internationally recognized professional bodies like the National Association of University Women, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a Fellow – Institute of Management Consultant (IMC).

She has also served on committees as chairperson, secretary or member offering her counsel and making vital contributions to the achievements of a course. These committees include University Council Committee, Secretary to numerous Senate Committees, University Placement Committee, Protocol Sub-Committee Convocation Ceremonies, Examination Committee (CDL), Exams and Malpractice Committee (CDL), Lecture & Awards of Prizes Committee (LAPC), Appraisal Committee (Academic, Senior Staff & Junior Staff), Matriculation Organizing Committee, just to mention but a few.

As an outstanding personality, Halima Bala Mohammed has been recognized for her leadership and exemplary lifestyle and have merited awards like the Award of Excellence by the Lunguda Traditional Council in 2021 and was conferred with a Chieftaincy Title- Sarauniyan Gamji by the Hakimin Yola, Alhaji Muhammadu Ahmed Mustafa in 2021.

She is blessed with children- Mohammed Habib, Wafiq Mohammed Habib Ramadan.
