Born and raised in the vibrant town of Bazza, Augustina embarked on her educational odyssey with determination and zeal. From the hallowed halls of Demonstration Primary School to the esteemed Federal Government Girls College in Owerri, her thirst for knowledge was insatiable. It was during her formative years at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she honed her skills in accounting, setting the stage for a remarkable career ahead.
Fresh out of university, young Augustina answered the call to serve her nation through the National Youth Service Corps, leaving an indelible mark wherever she was stationed. Little did she know, her journey was just begin- ning.
In December 1985, Augustina took her first steps into the Office of the Accountant General, Adamawa State, igniting a career that would span decades and leave an indelible impact on the state’s financial landscape. Through diligence and dedication, she ascended through the ranks, each role equipping her with invaluable experience and insight.
Her crowning achievement came in 2014 when she was appointed as the Accountant General of Adamawa State, a position of immense responsibil- ity entrusted to her by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. Over the course of six years and under four different administrations, Hon Wandamihya navi- gated the complexities of public finance with grace and precision, earning accolades for her exemplary leadership and unwavering integrity.
But Augustina’s journey didn’t end there. In 2020, after a distinguished career in civil service, she gracefully transitioned into a new role as the Commissioner of Finance, continuing her legacy of service to the people of Adamawa State.
Her dedication to excellence, coupled with her commitment to societal advancement and spirituality, sets Hon. Augustina apart as a beacon of inspiration for women everywhere.
