Leading Women’s Award Honouree

Born on November 16, 1965, to the esteemed family of PA Raymond and Mama Afiya in Kodumon Village, Demsa Local Government Area, is a distinguished member of the Demsa Constituency and serves as the Majority Leader in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

Her educational journey commenced at Karewa Primary School, culminating in the attainment of her first school leaving certificate in 1977. She furthered her studies at the Government Secondary School Gombi, where she obtained her West African Examination Certificate (WAEC) in 1982.

Pursuing her passion for education, she earned a diploma in Account and Audit from the Adamawa State Polytechnic, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the Federal University of Technology, Yola (now Modibbo Adama University of Technology).

Seeking to enhance her professional expertise, she pursued a professional Certificate in Accounting from the College of Accountancy Kwall, leading to her induction as a Certified National Accountant (CNA) in 2016.

Her exemplary dedication and proficiency were recognized with the prestigious title of Fellow, Certified National Accountant (FCNA) by the Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN), the apex body for accounting professionals in Nigeria.
In her illustrious career, Honorable Chief Kate Mamuno served diligently with the Adamawa State
Government, holding various accounting roles across ministries and parastatals.

Her tenure culminated in her appointment as the Director of Finance and Supply with the Adamawa State Local Government Service Commission. Upon retirement, driven by a deep seated commitment to public service and the call of her constituents, she ventured into politics. Her leadership qualities and dedication to community development propelled her to victory in the 2019 general elections, securing a seat in the Adamawa State House of Assembly representing the Demsa constituency. Her exemplary performance earned her re-election for a second term in 2023, where she currently serves as the Majority Leader.

In recognition of her invaluable contributions to community development, Honorable Chief Kate Mamuno has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Kpauye Kodomun and Dwa mbwara Batta awards from revered traditional rulers in her community and the traditional tittle Nkwaring kusèu Mbula.

Outside her political and professional endeavors, Honorable Chief Kate Mamuno finds joy in dancing and singing Christian music. She is a devoted mother of three, and her passion for service extends beyond borders as she travels extensively within and outside Nigeria.
