Hajiya Lami Fintiri

Her Excellency Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri was born on October 27th, 1976
to the family of Baba Alhaji Isa Walkulamtu and Mama Hajiya Aisha Wakulamtu,
all of the blessed memory, at Nguru, Gashua Local Government Area of Yobe
State.
Hajiya Lami started her primary education at Shehu Sanda Kyarimi, Maiduguri,
and then proceeded to GGSS Miringa, Biu, and GGSS Maiduguri for her
secondary education, where she obtained SSCE/NECO.
She enrolled to learn computer packages, where she obtained a Certificate in
Computer Science, and then proceeded to the University of Maiduguri
(UNIMAID), Borno State, and obtained a Diploma in Biology Education; and
then, she went to the Federal University of Technology, Yola (now MAUTECH),
and graduated with B.Sc Honors in Management Technology.
Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri happened to be the firstborn (daughter) of the
family, and she got married to His Excellency, the Governor of Adamawa State,
Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on November 27th, 1999, in Madagali Local
Government Area of Adamawa State.
Hajiya Lami happens to be a virtuous woman who helped her husband
politically by being by his side since his days during grassroots politics when
he was a 2 term member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and later
Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, and Acting Governor of
Adamawa State in 2014, and became the substantial Governor of Adamawa
State in 2019. Her Excellency played a critical role in his success.
The First Lady, Adamawa State, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri is a business-
oriented person, well-traveled around the world for her business, and she is the
Founder and Executive Director of Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment
Foundation (FAPEF), aimed to save lives and alleviate suffering and poverty
among her people by creating an opportunity for them to become
entrepreneurs by engaging them in skills acquisition training, giving a grant to
petty female traders, and minimizing the economic costs of conflict, disasters,
and displacement for the people. The purpose of the foundation is also to
facilitate the protection of civilians and those no longer taking part in hostilities,
and the provision of food, water, sanitation, shelter, health services, and other
items of assistance, undertaken for the benefit of affected people and to
facilitate the return to normal lives and livelihoods.
Because of her contribution and benevolence in promoting women’s courses in
the state, the people of Adamawa State named her ‘MAMAN MARAYU
ADAMAWA.’
Based on her numerous contributions to society and humanity, the District
Heads of Gulak and Song bestowed on her the titles of “SARAUNIYA GULAK I”
and “ALKEBBA MATAN SONG,” respectively.
Hajiya Lami’s hobbies are traveling, making friends, and watching movies.
