The concise Biography of Rt Hon. Bathiya Wesley Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and Member Representing Hong Constituency.

Rt.Hon. Bathiya Wesley was born into the prestigious family of Mr. and Mrs. Baba Wesley Mava’ama of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State Nigeria on the 7th July, 1983.

He started his Primary Education in 1990 where he enrolled into Staff School G.S.S Hong and later Thlabu Primary School from 1990-1996 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC).

From there he proceeded to Government Day Secondary School Shangui for His Junior Secondary Education and later G.S.S Hong for Senior Secondary Education between 1996-2001.

Upon his graduation from Secondary School where he obtained West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and National Examination Council Certificate (NECO) respectively, his quest for tertiary education prompted him to secure admission with the only indigenous and revered College of Education, Adamawa State College of Education Hong from 2003-2006 where he graduated with National Certificate in Education (NCE).

His quest for advanced education spurred him to got enrolled as undergraduate student with degree awarding institution affiliated to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (Adamawa State College of Education, Hong) where He is presently pursuing his Bachelor Degree.

Rt.Hon Bathiya Wesley is a certified entrepreneur, Philanthropist and a grassroots Politician.

The emblem of excellence and the youth vehicle for socio-political re-engineering had lived and is still living a philanthropical life with untamed generosity to his people and beyond.

He is a youth engrafted with optimistic compassion and empathy to mankind and less privileged. He is kind, down to the earth, jovial, witty, discerning and religiously inclined which made him to be distinct and rare amongst his contemporaries. He is indeed a humanitarian and a model worth emulating.

He is married to his beautiful wife Mrs Faith Bathiya Wesley on 9th December 2023

RT HON. BATHIYA WESLEY POLITICAL CAREER

The unfeigned and jittery traits of Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley and his fervent conviction to serve humanity and ameliorate the plight of downtrodden constrained him to join Politics barely two and half decades ago.

He served as a loyal party member and rose to held different positions, prominent among the positions is Hong Ward Secretary People’s Democratic Party.

As God will have it, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley contested for Member Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hong Constituency and won it with substantial overwhelming votes in the February/March, 2019 elections which made him to clinch as the member representing the good people of Hong Constituency in the 7th Assembly.

Until the expiration of the tenure of 7th Assembly, Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley was the chairman House Standing Committee on Education and Vice Chairman House committee on Local Government Affairs.

He was also a member of different Committees which includes House Standing Committee on Health, Agriculture, State Security, Boarder Integrations and SDGs, House services etc.

Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley equally served in different Adhoc committees and fully participated in the oversight functions.

The prodigious and utilitarian law maker set a record in the 7th Adamawa House of Assembly by being the first member to move a motion on the floor of the hallowed chamber.

The Unprecedented achievements recorded by the Member spurred his constituents to pass a vote of confidence on him to re-contest again where he emerged as the flag bearer of PDP in the Primary election unopposed and later beat his opponents with landslide votes in the March General Election 2023,

As a ranking member, Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley was on the 13th of June 2023 emerged as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly, to the glory of God.
