Hon. Dr. Stephen Maduwa

Few years after independence, the year 1967 made history with a triumph entry of an enigma, astute administrator, a prince and a pleasant personality.

Born to the ancient kingdom of the Higgi people of Michika in Norther Nigeria.  For the aspiration to go far in life, the young man enrolled into school to acquire basic education, after which he advanced to Government Secondary Schools Uba in 1987 where he obtained his Secondary School Certificate.

His quest for greater and professional knowledge, he proceeded to further his education at the prominent RAMAT Polytechnic Maiduguri, the School of Accountancy and Management Studies (PSAMS) Jos, and later the prestigious University of Maiduguri where he obtained Diploma, Higher National Diploma and Bachelor of Social Science in Accountancy.

He started a career with the Adamawa State Health Services Management Board Yola as a Junior Officer, served in various capacities until he attained the executive position of a Hospital Secretary, he served in the civil service for 26 years after which he retired to pursue other life expected career.

On retirement from the civil service, he joined active politics, where his commitment to service earned him several positions of Sole Administrator, Chairman of Local Government Council, Special Adviser and many others.

He is a man of too many feathers, not only in administration and politics but a seasoned and professional farmer, who brought his experience to bare on assuming the position of State Chairman RIFAN Adamawa State. 

He has invested so much energy and funds in education through his “Maduwa Care Foundation, which has funded the education of hundreds of less privileged children to discover their God given potentials and such gestures have yielded tremendous results.

His rising profile in the service of humanity has earned him honours at different times and capaicities, such which iclude the conferrement on him the title of “UBAN DOMA MICHIKA” by the District Head of Michika, National Award of Educational Excellence by the Coalition of Civil Society Organization and The award of Honanry Doctorate of Leadership and Community Development by ESAM University Cotonou, Benin Republic to mention but a few. 

He is presently the Adamawa State Chairman, Rice Farmers Associations of Nigeria (RIFAN) and the National Treasurer, Northeast Commodity Association (NECAS).

A man of humble background, good character, a nationalist, humanitarian per excellence and one of the most celebrated citizen in Adamawa State. He is happily married with lovely children.
