Hon. Mary Frank

Mary Frank holds a diploma in Common Law (2002) from the College of Legal Studies, Yola, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Political Science (2008) from the University of Maiduguri.

She then apprenticed in journalism with Quest Media, under the tutelage of Chief Timawus Matthias, and thereafter, worked with DAAR Communications Limited, from 2008 – 2010, as a reporter.

After her National Youth Service, she joined TV Gotel where she now works as a producer and presenter. She produces and presents two (2) well-received programs: (1) Amazing Adventures and (2) Opened Minds, among many other programmes. She also anchors the famous Safiya Breakfast Show on Gotel TV.

Mary Frank is involved with party politics. She contested primary elections for the PDP ticket to run for the the seat of member representing Numan Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly during the 2018 General Elections. Even though she did not secure the ticket, she stayed with PDP, and was appointed as a caretaker Deputy Chairman for Numan Local Government Council of Adamawa State.

Born in Kaduna to Bwatiye parents from Numan in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria, Mary Frank is driven by a passion to “excel at any given task and optimally develop the potential of every assignment”. Always cheerful, Mary Frank puts her entire energy into every task before her and works flat out to secure the best. She has deep interest in reading, creative writing, singing, dancing, travelling and meeting people.

Mary Frank makes her home in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State, from where she brings up her son, Gideon Atufopwa Dishon Hinekaron (she calls him “my love”!), having lost her husband (the famous journalist, Dishon Hinekaron) to death three (3) years into a blissful marriage.

A devout Christian, Mary Frank finds happiness in service to God and humanity.
